Gardens define the street
Who wouldn’t want to live in a neighbourhood that looks neat and looked after? In a street where the atmosphere even after years remains special. Together with your neighbours you can leave your mark on the streetscape. This can be achieved by a joint garden decoration. That is what the residents of the C.R. de Boerstraat did, in the new neighbourhood Drachtstervaart in Drachten. They chose to have a joint garden design plan for their street. They ended up with beautiful gardens and a unified look in the street.
Estilo made the design plans and coordinated the layout of the gardens. We are very proud of the result. The exclusive gardens, in which the individual wishes of the residents have been incorporated, are just beautiful to look at. ‘A unique piece of garden’, according to one of the residents.
Everyone was immediately enthusiastic
It was the residents who took the initiative to do the gardens together. The person, who came up with the idea, was already familiar with the way of working of Estilo and organised a visit with no obligation for all neighbours. So everyone got the opportunity to ask questions and to get to know more about how these things are actually done. Ana Mariano from Estilo: ‘A joint project is exceptionally suitable for front gardens. Although we’re working with different families, their individual wishes are easy to combine.’ Using previously realised projects, Ana explained the procedures. Ana: ‘When working on a joint project, we make a list of the residents’ wishes, but there is still enough space to take into account any individual wishes’. After a walk through her garden, the new residents were inspired. Willem Steen: ‘Ana’s own garden is very beautiful. And Ana’s enthusiasm was very contagious. It got to us all. Everyone was convinced, no one had any doubt.’
Illuminated sycamores
The cooperation went so well that the residents decided that they wanted to do the back gardens together, too. In this case the wishes were put on individual lists. The back garden is a place that people use more and the wishes are often rather personal.When Ana suggested to implement some of the details in all the gardens, without negotiating the personal wishes, everyone agreed immediately. Even here it was possible to create calm and uniformity, accentuating detail and exclusivity. Twenty beautiful sycamores decorate the back gardens. In the evening they are beautifully illuminated. Just like the quay where the boots of the residents are moored. It is a lovely picture. One of the residents even compares it with the Riviera. In short, all the residents have an exclusive garden which requires very little maintenance.

Klaas Bies‘Beautiful tight lines and a beautiful combination of colours’
‘I was the last person to join the project, but I had a good feeling about it right away. It was quite a shock, initially. I had underestimated the budget for the garden, but now I'm really glad I decided to join! The garden is still young, but quite lovely in summer and winter. Especially the sycamores along the water are beautiful. Estilo made sure I had nothing to worry about. I appreciate Ana's way of working. I really love landscaping. I liked the design immediately. Everything is tuned into each other, down to the smallest detail, and because she chose exclusive and high quality materials, the result is also very unique. Everything fits nicely together. The garden exudes calm, with its clean-cut forms and beautiful range of different shades of green.’

The Numans‘The result is a unique garden.’
‘We already knew our soon to be neighbours a little bit. We asked them if they were interested in having the driveway done together. When we got together to discuss this, we decided to have the front gardens done together too, and to ask the other soon to be neighbours to join us. It's obviously a pretty sight, uniformity in the street. And it ultimately provides an increase in value of the street and of your house.
We are full of praise for Estilo. Ana is a very good listener. All individual wishes are met. She deals with the stress for you and has a much more critical approach to the garden than you would have. We now have a beautiful garden that is a joy to be in. Maintenance is very low; you are done in five minutes, so to speak. The result is a unique garden. Well done, Ana. She is amazingly driven. I've never seen someone so motivated. Ana and Annies were there often from very early till very late, to take care of the coordination. What a great company. We are very satisfied; they get eleven out of ten.’
Beautiful result
All the residents are extremely satisfied with the result. The Dijkstras don’t need many words. ‘We are so happy. Especially in the evening with the lights on, it’s such a beautiful sight. Looking back I can only say one thing: wonderful!’
Sjoerd Numan said: ‘It is a nice sight of course, uniformity in the street. I bow to Ana. I have never seen someone so driven. Ana and Annies were often working from early in the morning till late in the afternoon to co-ordinate the process. What a wonderful company. We are very satisfied, they’ve exceeded expectations!’
Willem Steen agrees: ‘It went incredibly smooth and fast. It’s unbelievable how committed Ana was and how much Estilo has achieved.’

The Dijkstras‘In one word: wonderful!’
‘Excellent! Great! We are simply very satisfied. We all admire Estilo and their work. Ana has done such an exquisite job. Everything went well. She was always there, often already at 7 am. She had very good ideas. She always included us and asked for our opinion first, and she is very precise.
If I was going to move, I would have Estilo do my garden again. I can highly recommend them. We are so happy with their work. There are exclusive outdoor lamps on the façades of our houses, in the same colour as the wall. They provide a diffuse light downwards and a long and narrow beam upwards, along the entire façade. The lamps give a very special effect. At night when the lights are on, it's such a pretty face. This too, was the result of the excellent advice Estilo gave us.
I can only say one thing of the whole project: wonderful’

‘A soon to be neighbour called me to ask if I was interested in having the front gardens done jointly. I already knew Ana. Her own garden is beautiful.We then all went to Estilo. Ana conveyed such enthusiasm that we all were convinced right away. We all wanted to go ahead with it, no one had any doubts.The result is fantastic. Beautiful gardens, done with an eye for detail. The lighting is superb. As the sycamores and the quay are illuminated, it looks like the Riviera, arriving on the canal by boat. To do the garden jointly only has advantages. The process went so smooth. Quite a different story from the painstakingly tiresome collaboration with the project developer of our house.
Estilo started working on it straight away; we didn’t even get the chance to complain about them, so to speak. Ana and Annies came to see for themselves, and were very thorough. They saw things you would never see yourself, let alone complain about. And they took to the work straight away. Yes, your garden is perfectly safe in Ana’s capable hands. She strives for perfection, and she never misses an appointment. Everything went perfect and it was all done in a very short time. It’s amazing how committed she was and what Estilo has achieved.’
